A session will usually last 60-90 minutes. During the first part of the session you will be asked to fill out some simple paperwork. Then I will give you a basic introduction to hypnosis. At this point, you can ask me any questions you may have about hypnosis in general or about the session.
We will then discuss the issue you have come to see me about and would like to change. When we are both clear on what you want to accomplish from Hypnotherapy, it is time for the hypnosis session to begin.
I will use a specific induction method that is best suited to you to guide you into a hypnotic trance. While you are in hypnosis, I will use a variety of techniques and suggestions to help you unconsciously develop new beliefs and responses, that will allow you to experience the resolution of your issue in a naturally resourceful way.
Once you have been guided through the hypnotic techniques and suggestions – you will be instructed to open your eyes and return to your normal conscious state and the session is over. You will feel wonderful and very relaxed.Hypnosis Session:
What is it like to be hypnotized?
After undergoing hypnosis, people will often state that they didn't feel like they were in a trance (whatever that is supposed to feel like), and that they just felt a wonderful state of relaxation. Relaxing causes a change in the brain wave activity, similar to that time just before sleep when the alpha state is entered.
Mostly every individual will have a different hypnotic experience. Though normally pleasant, other sensations people may or may not experience are:
• General body heaviness or lightness
• Total body relaxation
• Disassociaton of limbs (they are there but they don't belong to you)
• Little or no body movement
• Pain reduction while induced
• Floating sensation
• Breathing is slower and more relaxed
• Tingling in limbs
• An overall sense of well being
• Tearing eyes
• Upward rolled eyes
• Eyelids feel too heavy to open • Eye lids fluttering
• Senses become very acute
• Facial features become flattened and soften up
• Vivid recall of past experiences that perhaps you have not thought about for years
• Drooling
• Slower swallowing reflexes
• Time distortion
• Small irritations no longer bother you
• Become aware of pulse
• Vivid Imagery
• Improved memory
• Vision becomes de-focused
